Well ...i have cured my petcock disaster. I have a gs450 shoved in the corner so i took the petcock off of that and had hoped to just slap it on the savage...no dice....holes were incorrect so i decided to rip that one a part and figure out where i went wrong. As it turns out the small brass coily thing is mounted against the diaphram for the vaccum crap...when the tap is set to prime it pushes the coil against the diaphram opening it up slightly to allow the fuel to pass....so i delicatly removed the flimsy coiled object and inserted it into the savage petcock now it works good...i will hopefully be starting the bike today for the first time since november (if i put the best of the bike back together correcctly) A word to the wise would be dont mess with this engineering disaster unless you absolutely must.
